Donna (Edmonds) Boehmer
March 11, 2018

Mount Carmel- Heaven gained a beautiful angel, Donna Boehmer, 58, of Mount Carmel on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, while surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Ashland, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Priscilla Edmonds. She joyfully told stories of growing up with the kids in the neighborhood on Turnpike Alley and the family trips she went on to visit her grandmother in Pikeville, Kentucky. Donna had a light-hearted spirit that not even cancer could take away from her and she loved her family abundantly and without waiver.

Donna worked for many years as a nursing assistant before enrolling in a practical nursing program. In 1997, after many long hours, hard work and diligence, she graduated from Schuylkill Training and Technology Center in Frackville, Pennsylvania and went on to pass her state nursing boards and officially realized her dreams in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Donna loved caring for older adults and worked at various nursing homes throughout her years as a nurse.

On April 2, 1999, in Elkhart, Indiana, Donna married Richard Boehmer, who survives. Their marriage grew Donna's family. In addition to Donna's two daughters, Devon Manney and Deidra Orner, her family grew to include two stepdaughters, Candance Miller and Jennifer O'Connell, both of Missouri and a stepson Richard Boehmer Jr., of Mount Carmel. Together Donna and Richard avidly enjoyed going to cheer on their favorite Philadelphia sports teams at various baseball and football events. They also enjoyed taking trips to Kentucky and to Tennessee to visit their friends, Pastor Alvin and Jean Watts. Donna and Richard would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary this April 2.

Donna is survived by her husband, Richard Boehmer and her two daughters, Devon Manney and her husband, Brian, and Deidra Orner, all of Elysburg; her step son, Richard Boehmer Jr. and his wife Jessica of Mount Carmel, her two stepdaughters, Jennifer O'Connell and her husband John Paul, and Candance Miller and her fiancé Jeff Edwards, all of Missouri. She is also survived by her sister and her buddy, Darlene Derr and her husband William Derr Jr., of Mount Carmel. Donna has nine grandchildren, Hannah Grace Priscilla Manney, of Elysburg, Alexis, Dakota and Abigail Boehmer of Mount Carmel, Jonathan, Jameson and Jordan O'Connell and Jevean Brown, all of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Priscilla Edmonds and one grandson, Blake Boehmer. We all love her beyond measure and if love, alone, could keep her alive she would have lived forever. She is and will always be missed dearly for the rest of our days.

Religious services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel. Rev. Michelle Beissel, Pastor of the Elysburg United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
