Obituary for Anita Angela Moffitt
Anita Angela Moffitt, age 80 of Mount Carmel passed away on Sunday night, July 10, 2022 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
She was born and raised in Homestead on August 15, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. George and Emma Dumbloskie.
She graduated from St. Benedict’s Academy in 1958.
Anita worked for Wilson’s Sporting Goods for many years.
On September 25, 1969 she gave birth to her only daughter,
Leanne Marie. A couple years into Leanne’s childhood, the family relocated from Homestead to Mount Carmel. While living in Mount Carmel Anita worked 30 plus years for the Northumberland County Assistance Office until she retired as a supervisor.
However, Anita’s favorite job was being “Mommom” to her three beloved grandsons, Jacob Robert, Dylan Patrick, & Christian Joseph Ryan. She was their biggest supporter, from attending all of their sports games to encouraging them to reach for all their dreams. Anita was so proud of her boys and she had a good reason to be with one working for the Letterkenny Army Depot, one a firefighter & EMT, and another serving in the U.S. Airforce. She loved watching them grow from little boys to determined men and talking about them to everyone she met. She was also looking forward to attending all of their adult milestones including weddings and other family celebrations. If there was one thing Anita was great at, it was being a Mommom to them.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Leanne M. Ryan and her husband John L. Ryan of Elysburg and their children, Anita’s grandchildren, Jacob R. Ryan of Chambersburg, Dylan P. Ryan of Harrisburg, and Christian J. Ryan stationed in Omaha, NE; her brother, George Dumbloskie Jr. of Greensboro, NC; two nieces, Lenne and Angel, who loved their Nonnie.
In addition to her parents George and Emma Dumbloskie, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Dumbloskie.
Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 am in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel with the Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. In lieu of flowers and in consideration of her grandsons’ professions and how proud Anita was of them, the family is requesting expressions of sympathy to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org. Rest in peace Mommom, we love you to the moon and back. To leave a condolence to the family please visit www.stutzfuneralhome.com
