Obituary for Ann Marie Muldoon

Ann Marie Muldoon, a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel born on May 4, 1930 to the late and John and Anna (Poklemba) Muldoon passed away on Thursday evening, March 16, 2023.

After graduating from Catholic High School in Mt. Carmel in 1948, she began a career that spanned seventy-five years serving with pure humility as a devoted, loyal, and faithful employee of the Church of Our Lady Mount Carmel. Among her numerous roles was that of secretary to The Most Reverend Lawrence F. Schott when Bishop Schott was the Pastor at Our Lady's. In a press interview in 1972, Ann Marie was quoted: "We were busy all the time and it was exciting and very rewarding to be part of the work of the Church and to serve my pastor as he advanced in rank, step by step." Her lifetime achievements and honors include the Lorica Award from the Diocese of Harrisburg which was presented to her by Bishop Ronald Gainer in 2019 for her demonstration of integrity of Faith and generosity in service to Our Lady's Parish.

Ann Marie is survived by her sister, Mary Hentschel and her husband Jack of Lewisberry; her brother-in-law, Edward Patrick of Camp Hill; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends, especially the dozens of priests and seminarians that she mentored during her lifetime.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice, Jean, Joan, and Joan's late husband, Robert Butts.

Ann Marie’s family extends sincere thanks and grateful appreciation to the staff of the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community for the care and comfort they gave to Ann Marie during her stay.
