Obituary for Anna Budraitis

Anna Budraitis, 99, of Kulpmont, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in League City Texas, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born November 21, 1921, in Centralia. She was the eldest daughter of the late Wesley and Helen (Levkulich) Mekosh. She resided in Centralia as well as Kulpmont.

Anna received her education in Centralia. She was proud that she was one of the few certified women crane operators during World War II.

On July 15, 1945, she married Anthony Budraitis, who preceded her in death on December 15, 1984. In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by her siblings George, Charles, Peter, Alex, Andrew, Michael, John, Nicolas, and Mary.

Anna was a dedicated lifetime member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Centralia. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 608 Ladies Auxiliary, Wilburton, for 71 years. Anna served many terms as president. She was also an avid member of La Petite Salon, where she did a term as La Chapeau. Anna also enjoyed going to church, cooking, crossword puzzles, a trip to the casino, and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. Anna was always ready for a fun church picnic or family party. Her upbeat personality and witty sense of humor sparked joy. She always had a smile and kind words for all.

Her four children survive Anna. They include Carole Grady (Robert) of Texas City, Texas, Anthony Budraitis (Brigitte) of Cape Coral, Florida, Ronald Budraitis (Brenda) of Conneautville, Pennsylvania, and Melanie Dove of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania. Anna is survived by her sister Helen Ruger of Blasdell, New York, who subsequently passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, in New York.

She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren, Robert Grady (Cris), Cheryl Rusdal (Halvor), Anthony Budraitis (Lena), Brigitte Budraitis, Justin Yancheski (Valerie), Alexander Sanders, Rebecca Budraitis, and Eric Budraitis (Amanda).
