LOCUST GAP — Carolann Marie Laughlin, 76, of 267 Main St., passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, in her home. She was born in Hegins, July 5, 1939, to the late Harold and Chesta (Seiler) Maurer. Carolann was a 1956 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She was married to James S. Laughlin, who preceded her in death July 20, 1985. Carolann was a retired factory worker. She most cherished time spent with her granddaughter, Emma. She always looked forward to her visits. Carolann is survived by a daughter, Patricia Laughlin, of Locust Gap; a son, William Laughlin, of Locust Gap, and companion, Christine Firesteine, who helped care for Carolann; three grandsons, James Laughlin, of Palmyra, John Laughlin Jr., of Coal Township, and Joseph Laughlin, of Kulpmont; a granddaughter, Emma Laughlin, of Shamokin; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Laughlin; numerous nieces and nephews; four sisters, Joan Ribarchik, of Bristol, Helen Sweigart, of Hamburg, Catherine Duff, of Kentucky, and Jean Wallace, of Ashland. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John T. Laughlin, on April 15, 2015; two sisters, Marilyn Hummel and Mary Houser; and four brothers, Dale, Nevin, James and Bill Maurer. LAUGHLIN — Carolann Marie Laughlin, 76, of 267 Main St., Locust Gap. A religious funeral service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Joan A. Brown officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Locust Gap. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. Joseph J. Stutz, III, supervisor.
