Obituary for Chester D. Cook, Jr.
Chester David Cook, Jr. 85 of 113 South Market St., Elysburg, passed away on Friday July 27, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Born on September 3, 1932 he was a son of the late Chester Cook, Sr. and Florence (Teitsworth) Cook.

He was a 1950 graduate of Ralpho Township High School and was also a graduate of Williamsport Community College where he majored in masonry.

On August 15, 1959 in the Elysburg Presbyterian Church he married Ruth Naomi (Brown) Cook who preceded him in death on March 16, 2015.

Chester was employed as a machinist at TRW in Danville for 35 years until his retirement.
In his younger years, he was known as Rusty, the baseball pitcher and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Throughout his life, he loved to hunt with his beloved dogs. He was an award-winning bowler and would often be found working at his lot, taking care of his dogs and working in his victory garden.

Chester was a member of the Elysburg Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. He was also a member of the Elysburg Fire Company.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Cook-Shultz and her husband Len of Potomac Falls, Virginia and Karen Marinelli and her husband Gary of Jamison, PA.; four grandchildren, Kevin and Kylie Shultz, Kristyn and Taylor Marinelli; one sister, Blendyne Swank of Lewisburg; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents and his wife was a brother, Stanford Cook

Religious services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Elysburg Presbyterian Church. Rev. Richard Kellett will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Elysburg. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service in the church. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Elysburg Fire Company, 1 Mill Street, Elysburg, PA 17824.
