Obituary for Emma Wywadis
Emma Wywadis, 86, of 141 East Avenue Mt. Carmel passed away on Friday July 14, 2017 at her home.
Born in Mt. Carmel on June 2, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Louise (Schuck) Yoder.
On December 31, 1948 she married Jerome S. Wywadis who preceded her in death on June 18, 2004.
Emma had been employed at the former General Cigar factory in Mt. Carmel and prior to her retirement worked at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel.
Emma liked to crochet, shop, read and do crossword puzzles; most of all she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons Jerome Stanley. Wywadis, Jr. and his companion Teri Bartnicki of Star Tannery, Virginia, and Walter Joseph Wywadis and his wife Reva Jo of Topeka, Kansas; one daughter Cynthia Marie Birster and her husband Richard with whom she resided, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Earl, Merlin, Walter, Harold, Kenneth, Ralph and Eugene Yoder and five sisters, Dolores Berry, Audrey Whery, Alberta Yoder, Helen Yoder and Faye Lorraine Yoder.
Religious services will be held on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel with Pastor Sam Bellavia officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lavelle. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 46 North Hickory Street Mt. Carmel, PA. 17851.
