Obituary for John "Jack" Kerprich
John J. “Jack” Kerprich, 84, of 223 North Park Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Ashland on March 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Matulewicz) Kerprich.
He was a graduate of the former Catholic High School in Mt. Carmel.
Jack had been employed for twenty-one years at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Center in the dietary department before his retirement.
On April 5, 1997 in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel he married Barbara (Chapleski) Kerprich who survives.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish and the Mt. Carmel Knights of Columbus Council # 628. He enjoyed bowling, traveling and his many trips to Knoebels Amusement Resort.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Beth Gesumaria and her husband Philip of Selinsgrove; one son, John Kerprich and his wife Mandilee of Stroudsburg; one stepdaughter, Kathy Kates of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Scott, Philip, Elijah, Andrew, Ethan and Daniel; five great grandchildren, Marissa, Nyco, Emily, Eric and Summer; one brother, Gerald Keprich of Florida; two sisters, Carol Kendter of Montoursville and Donna Kehler of Mt. Carmel; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Catherine “Katie” (Counterman) Kerprich; and two brothers, Robert and James Kerprich.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday January 3, 2022 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki Pastor officiating. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor.
