John “Clem” Kondisko
January 28, 2022

Local business man, John “Clem” Kondisko, passed away quietly at home on Friday morning, January 28, 2022.

John owned and operated K’s Cleaners for 45 years with his partner and brother, Tom Kondisko.

Though Clem started his life in Portage, PA, he showed his love and commitment to Mount Carmel through his many philanthropic activities. He was a 50 year member of the Mount Carmel Lions Club where he, he along with his wife Marie, founded the Holiday Meals on Wheels program. To this day, the Mount Carmel Lions still gather to prepare and deliver meals to those in need on the holidays.

Clem served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile crisis. He was stationed aboard the USS Dahlgren where he was a missile technician.

Clem was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and past Grand Knight.

John’s kindness also extended to his church, Our Lady’s of Mount Carmel where he and his wife served for many years on the block party committee.

Clem will be remembered by his friends and family as good natured, fun loving soul and the kindness he showed to everyone. His close friends will be remember today as the day he weakened.

Clem is survived by his children, Kerri Kondisko and her partner Patrick O’Brien, Tony Kondisko and his wife Susan, Russ Kondisko, and Connie Bernathy and her husband Joseph; his grandchildren, David Kondisko, Mindy Kondisko, Erik Kondisko. Gavin Kondisko, and grandpets, Farfel, Toffee, Lillie, Butters, Smokey, Maisey and Boney. Also surviving are his siblings, Kathy Pickle and her husband Nate, Thomas Kondisko, Lynne Hanrahan and her husband Marty, and Rose Demko; many nieces and nephews.

Proceeding him in death were his wife, Marie (Demko) Kondisko, brother-in-law, Thomas Demko, sister-in-law, Pauline (Whitecavage) Kondisko, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Owen.
