MOUNT CARMEL — Louise A. Schetroma, 85, of 351 S. Locust St., passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Louise was born March 5, 1931, in Coal Township, to the late John and Kathyrn (Pianis) Gurski. She attended Coal Township schools. On April 18, 1953, Louise was married in Winchester, Virginia, to Edward Schetroma, who survives. Louise had been employed for many years in local garment factories. She worked for the former Shamokin Dress Company and Lady Hope Manufacturing. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. Louise was a loving wife and mother. She was also known for her fabulous cooking skills. In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by a son, Edward Schetroma and his wife, Ann Marie, of Shamokin; a sister, Kathryn Krankowski, of New Jersey; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerome, Bernard, John and Francis; and a sister, Mildred. SCHETROMA — Louise A. Schetroma, 85, of 351 S. Locust St., Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki as celebrant. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10:15 a.m. Monday, at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Joseph J. Stutz, III, supervisor.
