Obituary for Roman F. Kenenitz
Roman F. Kenenitz, age 64 of 322 North Hickory St., Mt. Carmel passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Columbia-Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville.
Born in the former Ashland State Hospital on August 3, 1952 he was a son of the late Roman and Genevieve M. (Madalis) Kenenitz.
He was a 1970 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.
Roman had worked as a heavy maintenance mechanic during his enlistments in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant.
On July 19, 1975 in St. Joseph’s Church in Mt. Carmel he married the former Susan Brezinski.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2110, the American Legion Post 91 and the Clover Hose Fire Company all of Mt. Carmel.
Roman was an avid Lionel and model train enthusiast. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He also enjoyed looking at and working on all types of heavy equipment and excavators.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 41 years, Susan Kenenitz are his daughter, Jill Kenenitz-Olah and her husband Joseph of Kulpmont; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Brezinski of Mt. Carmel; three brothers, Stephen Kenenitz and his wife Rose of Atlas, Edward Kenenitz and his wife Kathryn of Marion Heights and John Kenenitz and his wife Annie of Mt. Carmel; two sisters, Judy Sedor and her husband Joe of Mt. Carmel and Marion Kenenitz of Mt. Carmel; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Mt. Carmel. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Church of Our Lady, 47 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
