Obituary for Thomas J. Serovich

Thomas J. “Moon Dog” Serovich, 73 of 246 Columbia Ave., Atlas died suddenly on Friday, February 22, 2019; he was sick all of his life.

Born on March 30, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Kraszewski) Serovich formerly of Atlas.

He was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and attended Harrisburg Area Community College.

Mr. Serovich served his country in the Army.

He was employed by Jerrold Electric as a lineman and foreman for ten years and was a member of the DBEW Local 126. He retired after twenty-nine years from the State of Pennsylvania as a weights and measures inspector.

Moon Dog was active member of the Atlas American Legion Post 804 for over for over forty years and served in many offices during that time. He was a life member of the Atlas Fire Company and was also a member of the Mount Carmel Eagles.

Tom enjoyed surf fishing at the shore, visiting casinos (all casinos) and drinking beer with his friends. He was a die-hard democrat. By the time he died he did not do anything, he gave up everything he liked to do; it was time to go!

Surviving are his wife Dena Serovich; one daughter, Susan Serovich and her companion Matt Kraynak of Den-Mar Gardens; one son, Thomas Serovich and his wife Amy of Indian Trail, NC; one step-daughter, Karen Faust and her husband Jeff of New Ringgold; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Joey, Thomas, Katie, Julieanna, Kiersten and Kylie; one sister, Gerry Zarkoski and her husband Marty of Kulpmont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Serovich and his son Joey Serovich.
