MOUNT CARMEL — Ann Spandra, 89, of Mount Carmel, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Mount Carmel, a daughter of the late John and Ann (Jatko) Fetsko.

She graduated from Mount Carmel High School.

Prior to becoming a homemaker, Ann was employed in the payroll department at the former Humberland Dress Factory, Mount Carmel.

On June 27, 1953, in St. Peter's Church, Mount Carmel, she married Joseph Spandra, who preceded her in death Dec. 29, 2015.

She was a former member of St. Peter's Church, Mount Carmel, and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel.

Ann was a very religious person and a devout Catholic. Ann enjoyed socializing and being around people. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Treff and Red. Ann was a loving, caring and kind woman. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and caring for her family. Most of all, she especially enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Spandra and his wife, Joan, of Hummelstown, and John Spandra, of Elysburg; three grandchildren, Katelyn and Kylie Spandra and Kelly Koman and her husband, Andrew; a sister, Rose Marie Mitchell, of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Bubernack, Margaret Galonski and Lillian Cress.

SPANDRA — Ann Spandra, 89, of Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Heart Association , 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, 17701, or the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 96011, Washington D.C., 20090.
