Barbara E. Kerprich, 83 of 223 North Park Street, Mt. Carmel, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shamokin on September 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Kulick) Chapleski.

She was a graduate of Elmont High School, New York.

Barbara was married to her first husband, Paul Martin who preceded her in death. She then married her second husband John “Jack” Kerprich who preceded her in death on December 23, 2021.

Barbara had been employed for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Center prior to her retirement.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathy Kates of Kulpmont; one grandson; four great grandchildren; one sister, Paula Macedonio and her husband Frank of Monticello, New York; one brother, Joseph Slodysko and his wife Kathy of Florida; step-daughter, Beth Gesumaria and her husband Philip of Selinsgrove; stepson, John Kerprich and his wife Mandilee of Stroudsburg; and five step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel with Very Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Karwacki as the celebrant. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor has been entrusted with the arrangements.
