It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Olga Rimokaitis Houser, who died on July 10, 2026, at the age of 82 in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.
Barbara was born on September 30, 1943, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, to Edward and Mary Cheddar Rimokaitis. She grew up in Mount Carmel, where she attended Holy Cross Catholic School and Mount Carmel Area High School. She later attended Holy Family College in Philadelphia and pursued a career in education, teaching students with special needs at the Woods School in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
Throughout her life, Barbara was known for her kindness, charisma, love of animals, and colorful, iconic sense of style. Her vivacious personality, warmth, and flair inspired and delighted all who knew her.
Barbara found her greatest joy in caring for her family and her beloved pets. She filled her home with playfulness, whimsy, laughter, and love. She especially treasured being “Nana” to her grandson, Declan, who laughed at all of her good jokes—and even harder at her terrible ones.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Houser of Fairless Hills; her children, Nicole Houser and her wife, Karen Ford, of Vienna, Austria, and Douglas Houser and his wife, Samantha, of Allentown, New Jersey; her beloved and adored grandson, Declan; and her cherished Yorkshire terrier, Winston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Cheddar Rimokaitis, and her infant son, Bradford Thomas Houser.
Though Barbara is no longer with us, her love, compassion, humor, and unforgettable spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
