Cecelia C. Ayres

February 18, 1925 — September 16, 2017

Cecelia C. Ayres, age 92 of 333 South Pine Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Saturday evening, September 16, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Atlas on February 18, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Maslowski) Nolter.

She was a 1942 graduate of the former Mount Carmel Township High School.

Earlier in life, Cecelia worked as a clerk at the Social Security Administration in Philadelphia before returning to Mt. Carmel. She then was employed by Rea and Derick, Mt. Carmel as a clerk and prior to her retirement worked at Wilburton Manufacturing as a bookkeeper and secretary.

On April 7, 1947 in the Church of Our Lady in Mt. Carmel she married Howard William Ayres who preceded her in death on June 15, 1980.

She was a member of the Church of Our Lady, Mt. Carmel. She was a lifetime member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor. She was also a member of Paulanarians, the Mt. Carmel and Kulpmont Senior Action Centers and was Treasurer of the Mt. Carmel Township Alumni. Cecelia was an expert at crossword puzzles which she enjoyed daily.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Molesevich and her husband Dennis of Mt. Carmel; one daughter-in-law, Francine “Cindy” Ayres of Kulpmont; five grandchildren, Dennis Molesevich, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Jeffrey Molesevich and his wife Kerri, Vanessa Ayres, Courtney Sanders and her husband Thomas and William Ayres and his wife Amanda ; four great-grandchildren, Dennis Molesevich III, Lia, Ali and Mason Molesevich

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were one son, William “Bill” Ayres on July 26, 2001; four brothers, Charles, Bernard, William and John Nolter; two sisters, Mercedes Sieja and Lillian Marinelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of Our Lady, Mt. Carmel. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. and on at Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel.
