Charles Hoskie, 71 formerly of Centralia, Big Mine Run and Ashland passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Pottstown on January 31, 1954, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Irene (Lute) Hoskie.

Charlie was a retired truck driver having worked in the local anthracite coal industry.

He was a member of the Centralia Fire Company, the American Hose Company No. 1, Ashland, the Good Fellowship Club, Ashland and was also a social member of the Centralia American Legion Post 608, Wilburton.

Charlie enjoyed making crafts and memorabilia using anthracite coal. He also liked collecting antique toy cars that he kept in mint condition.

Surviving are three sisters and one brother, Kathleen Hummel of Kulpmont, Patricia Nork and her husband Frank of Shenandoah Heights, Eileen Buehl and her husband Thomas of Lavelle and Joseph Hoskie of Mahanoy Plane; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were one brother and two sisters, Robert Hoskie, Roseann Bird and Linda Ennis.

Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J.
