Dennis Leroy Baker, 77 of Shamokin passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Mountain View Rehabilitation & Senior Living Center, Coal Township.
Born in Shamokin on June 17, 1948, he was the son of the late James and Myrtle (Heim) Baker.
He was a 1966 graduate of the former Trevorton High School where he played football and basketball for the Red Devils.
Dennis was a retired truck driver having been the owner and operator of the former Dennis Baker Trucking.
He was a life member of the NRA and was also a member of the Zerbe Rod & Gun Club.
Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed racing at Line Mountain 4 Wheelers in his younger days. He also enjoyed spending time with his pets.
He will be remembered for his meticulous attention to detail to his many muscle cars and his coal trucks.
Surviving are his companion, Terry Fisher; his son, Nicholas Baker and wife Bieonkia; his sister, Darlene Zurick; his grandson, Colin Baker; two granddaughters, Allyson and Abigail Lesho; two brothers-in-law, Harry Miller and Stan Raup; nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two sisters, Bonnie Raup and Sherry Miller.
