Eleanor T. “Ellie” Schott, 88 of Mount Carmel passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation, Danville.
Born in Mount Carmel on April 11, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Bernard S. and Stella (Gardocki) Wolkoski.
Ellie attended the former Saint Joseph’s grade school in Mt. Carmel and was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
On September 15, 1962 in the former Saint Joseph’s Church, Mt. Carmel, she married Thomas J. Schott who preceded her in death on May 12, 2020.
Eleanor was a retired seamstress in the local garment industry. She was employed in area factories and also at the former Matlow’s Clothing Store, Mt. Carmel.
Ellie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. She was also a member of the parish Altar Rosary Society, the Secular Franciscan Order, the Polish Women’s Alliance, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Spiritual Travelers of Our Lady of the Highways. Earlier, she was a member of the former Saint Joseph’s Church, Mt. Carmel where she served on the parish council as secretary and treasurer.
Surviving are her daughter, Debra Latovich and her husband Joseph of Coal Township; Tom Schott and wife Tracy of Elysburg; grandchildren, Ashley Schott, Austin Schott and his wife Adrienne, Joshua Latovich and his wife Crystal, Daniel Latovich and his friend Lesley, and Caleb Latovich and his wife Angela; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were her son, Lawrence William Schott on May 27, 2025 and her brother, Bernard J. Wolkoski on January 6, 2024.
Religious services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11:00 am with Very Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor, officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township.
