Eleanor Carol Searls

Eleanor Carol Searls, 88 of 1012 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, passed away on July 4, 2026 at her home.

Born on May 21, 1938 in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late George and Bessie (Wills) Getty.

She was a 1955 graduate of Con-Cen High School in Conyngham Township.

Eleanor had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper and floor supervisor at the former Lady Hope Garment Factory. She then went on to work in the cafeteria at Mt. Carmel Area School District.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel, a life member of the West End Fire Company in Kulpmont and an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #231 in Kulpmont.

Eleanor enjoyed going on bus trips, attending dances, musicals, casinos and most of all being with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Labota of Den-Mar Gardens and Tonya Searls of Coal Township; two grandchildren, Jaimee Labota-Keiser and her husband Christopher of Kulpmont and Jason Labota of California; two great grandchildren, Collin Kieser and Gavin Taylor; a brother,Donald Getty and his wife Sandra; sister-in-law, Pauline Getty; cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Fisher, Miriam Kuziak and Beverly Weikel; two brothers, Gerald Getty and Earl Getty; son-in-law, John J. Labota; three brothers-in-law, Charles Weikel, Richard Fisher and Paul Kuziak; a sister-in- law, Trudy Getty.

Religious services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Joan A. Brown officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
