Ethel J. Facer, 81 formerly of Shamokin and Kulpmont passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Shamokin on April 6, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Robert L. Britton, Sr. and Eva M. (Noll) Britton.
Ethel attended Shamokin Schools.
On June 3rd, 1956 in Woodbridge, Virginia she married Iver K. Facer, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 21, 2012.
Prior to her retirement, she worked in the housekeeping department at the Mount Carmel Nursing Home.
Ethel was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel. She enjoyed crocheting and spent countless hours at her hobby.
Ethel is survived by three sons, Iver K. Facer, Jr. of Carrollton, Georgia, George L. Facer, and his wife Wendy of Hamilton, Virginia and Bruce E. Facer, Sr. and his wife Sandy of Strong; twelve grandchildren, sixteen greatgrandchildren; one brother, Donald Britton and his wife Rose of Mt. Carmel; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
A religious service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 am in the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel. Rev. Rose Marquardt will officiate. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
