Gerald F. Scisly, 82 of Mt. Carmel passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on December 25, 1942 in Mt. Carmel, he was the son of the late Frank M. “Fritz” and Dorothy G. (Chuprinski) Scisly.
He was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and then graduated from North Carolina State University having earned his B.S in Education.
Jerry was a public school teacher for the Baltimore City School District for many years before retiring to his homestead in Mt. Carmel.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish and was an actively involved member of the Sons of Poland Social Club, Mt. Carmel. Jerry played football for the Wolfpack while attending North Carolina State.
Surviving are his first cousin, David Chuprinski of Muncy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous uncles and aunts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mt. Carmel with the Very Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St, Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
