Gloria E. Norcavage, 80, of Shenandoah passed on Sunday night, July 13, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Shenandoah on July 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late John and Elsie T. (Michalowski) Norcavage.
She was a 1963 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Earlier in life, Gloria was employed at the former Martin Shirt Factory, Shenandoah. Later, she worked as a retail clerk at the former K-Mart in the Schuylkill Mall, Frackville and then at the former Rite-Aid, Shenandoah until her retirement.
Gloria was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and formerly held membership in Saint Casimir Parish and Saint George Parish. She was also a member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.
She enjoyed visiting the casinos on bus trips, especially with her sisters. She also enjoyed the many other trips she traveled with the local senior organizations including the Golden Age of Mahanoy City. She was also an avid reader. Gloria took pleasure in a simple walk “up town” with her sister, Susan, and socializing with those they met along the way.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her sister, Joan M. Hobbs in 2002.
Surviving are three sisters, Patricia Whitecavage of Mahanoy City, Susan Supreme of Shenandoah and Kathleen Klein of Hellertown; her caregiver, Sherry Whitecavage of Eagle Rock; nieces and nephews with their families, cousins and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 10:00 am in Saint Casimir Church, 229 North Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at St. Casimir Church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 30, Tamaqua, PA 18252-0030. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt.
