Helen V. Chapman

Helen V. Chapman, 95, of 328 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel, passed away peacefully at Geisinger Shamokin Area Hospital on Friday, October 13, 2023, surrounded by family.

Born January 15, 1928, in Midvalley (Wilburton), she was the daughter of the late Daniel O’Donnell and Grace (Stillwagner) O’Donnell.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers Daniel “Junior” and William “Bill,” sister Jean, son William “Buddy,” and daughter Regina “Gina.”

Helen worked at Kmart in the Schuylkill Mall for many years before her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter Grace “Kathy,” nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and their families. She was affectionately known as “Baby” by her extended family in Maryland.

Religious services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 am with the Very Rev. Francis J. Karwacki officiating.  A visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J.
