Helen L. Nolter

Helen L. Nolter, 100, of Mount Carmel passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born on June 27, 1926 in Centralia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Standock.

She was a graduate of Centralia High School.

On April 26, 1946, in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Centralia, she married William Nolter who preceded her in death.

Helen was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish and the Centralia American Legion Post #608.

She had worked for the American Heart Association and was a former Judge of Elections in Centralia.

Surviving are her daughter, Gloria I. Michaliga; daughter-in-law, Rita A. Nolter; six grandchildren, Robert C. Michaliga and his wife Karen, Megan Nolter, Nathan S. Michaliga, Michael A. Nolter and his wife Mary Ellen, Cody B. Nolter and his wife Maura and Samuel J. Nolter; three great-grandchildren, Sierra Schaeffer and her husband Anthony, Aiden J. Nolter and Henry N. Nolter; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, William and Michael Nolter; and eight brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, 47 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
