The family of James "Jim" Thomas Golden, of Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, July 19, 2026, just one day after joyfully celebrating his 80th birthday.

Jim was born in Shamokin on July 18, 1946, to James Edward Golden and Valeria "Vi" Golden, both of whom preceded him in death.

Jim lived a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and service to others. As a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a Past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE), he dedicated countless hours to supporting his church and community. Helping others came naturally to Jim, and he was always among the first to offer his time, talents, or a helping hand whenever someone was in need. His generosity and willing spirit touched many lives.

Jim also treasured time spent with friends, especially on the golf course and during trips to visit casinos with his travel group. These experiences brought him great joy and created friendships and memories that he cherished throughout his life.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy (Yuskoski) Golden; his children, Kelly Golden of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mary (Golden) Bias and her husband, Jeffrey, of Coal Township; his former wife Molly (Maher) Golden of Mifflinburg; his stepdaughter, Pam Morrison of Hummelstown; his stepson, Edward Morrison and his wife, Kelley, of Elysburg; and his grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as "Pop Pop": Max Morrison of Philadelphia, Maggie Morrison and Alex Morrison of Elysburg and Kathleen Stover of Hummelstown.

He is also survived by his six siblings: Mary Ellen (Golden) Palacz of Shillington; John Golden and his wife, Mary, of Beaumont, Texas; Jane Golden of Arlington, Virginia; Thomas Golden and his wife, Susan, of York; William Golden and his wife, Ann, of Springfield, Virginia; and Patricia Golden of Arlington, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved son, James Vincent Golden, in March 2025.

Jim's family will forever cherish the love, guidance, laughter, and memories he shared throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Ave, Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
