Mount Carmel

Jane A. Pupo, 82 of 48 South Market Street, Mount Carmel passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 in her home.

Born in Danville on August 14, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Teresa (Kearney Brown) Wisdo.

Jane was a 1959 graduate of Catholic High School in Mount Carmel.

On August 29, 1964 in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, she married Joseph F. “Joe” Pupo who preceded her in death on February 4, 2021.

She retired from the former First National Trust Bank, Mount Carmel as a teller.

Jane was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and its Altar and Rosary societies.  She also volunteered there on Sundays to help count the weekly collection.

Everyone was blessed to have Jane in their lives.  Her family was everything to her; she and Joe would frequently host holiday get-togethers and dinners.  Homemade wedding soup, antipastos, and soupies made by the family in the basement were staples of these holiday parties.  Jane will be missed by many and most especially by her family.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were her daughter, Maria Pupo; sister, Gail Wisdo Jackson; and brother, Jerome D. Wisdo.

Surviving are her two daughters, Felicia McAndrew of Mount Carmel and Jessica Pupo of Allentown; two grandchildren, Hollie McAndrew of Mount Carmel and Corey McAndrew of Mount Carmel; two great-grandchildren, Victoria McAndrew and Lili Ann Campbell; two sisters, Mary Kroh and her husband Albert of Mechanicsburg and Terry Kaufmann and her husband Charles of Cochranville; two brothers, Dr. Raymond Wisdo and his wife Dr. Francine Greco of Little River, South Carolina and Brian Wisdo of Southport, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Patricia Wisdo of Southport, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
