Jennie Nolan, age 91, formerly of Mt. Carmel passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Richboro Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Richboro.
Born in the Green Point section of Brooklyn, NY on December 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Anastasia Shubar.
Jennie was a 1943 graduate of Washington Irving High School in New York City.
She was married on July 14, 1946 at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY to Patrick V. Nolan who preceded her in death on April 12, 1993.
Jennie had been employed as a waitress at the former Cox’s restaurant in Elysburg and at the Pine Burr Inn in Atlas. She had also worked at the former Cardinal Container Corporation in Mt. Carmel Township.
Jennie was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Catholic Daughters of America, Auxiliary member of the Knights of Columbus council #628 and member of the over 50 club.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Nolan and his wife Marilyn of Rockville, Maryland and Dennis Nolan and his wife Lynn of Harrisburg; two daughters, Eileen Bolick and her husband Thomas of Richboro and Kathleen Ruchko of Mt. Carmel, one daughter-in-law Jollyn Nolan of Stewart, Florida; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons Patrick and Terrence Nolan and two grandchildren Aaron Profit and Brittnay Nolan.
Religious services will be held on Friday, July 14th at 11 am. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Rev. Francis Karwacki will officiate. A viewing will be held from 9-11 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township.
