Joanne M. Wesner

Joanne M. (Lecynski) Wesner, 79, of Aristes, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard in Providence, Rhode Island.

Born in Atlas on November 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Kathryn (Marinelli) Lecynski.

Joanne was a 1963 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

Prior to her retirement, she had a lifelong career in secretarial services, early as a state employee in Harrisburg then later in life working for several local businesses.

On September 18, 1971, she married Lee H. Wesner who preceded her in death on November 3, 2022.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.

Joanne was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved connecting with friends in the community and was always up for a long chat over coffee. Her lifelong love of cats kept her home full of pets, a few strays, and an impressive collection of feline figurines.

Surviving are her son, Dr. Lee V. Wesner and his wife Lisa of Providence, Rhode Island; two grandchildren, Lila and Luke Wesner both of Providence, Rhode Island; brother, Robert Lecynski of Mount Carmel; extended family and friends.

Religious services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11:00 am with Very Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Karwacki officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor. Interment will follow with her late husband in Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Aristes.
