John Kobilis

John Kobilis, 53, of Wilburton passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

He was born on September 23, 1970 in Shamokin to the late John "Kob" Kobilis and Jacqueline "Jackie" (Colahan) Kobilis who survives.

He attended North Schuylkill High School.

He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Aristes, Wilburton Fire Company, West End Athletic Club in Mt. Carmel and was a social member of the Mt. Carmel Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 2110. 

John volunteered his time helping the Mt. Carmel Lions Club every holiday with their Meals on Wheels Program. John possessed a vibrant personality and had a range of interests. Fishing was one of his great passions. 

John is survived by his mother, Jacqueline "Jackie" Colahan; brother, David Kobilis, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, great niece, and many close friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Following the visitation, a religious service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating.
