MOUNT CARMEL — Leonard J. "Polish Prince" Chucoski, 85, of 320 S. Grape St., passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his home. He was born May 20, 1931, in Mount Carmel, a son of the late John J. and Clara (Kurland) Chucoski. He was a 1950 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. Leonard served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, with the 3rd Armored Division. Leonard retired from the Communications Workers of America, where he was employed as an installer. He was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, and a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Mount Carmel. He was a life member of the Wilburton Fire Company, Centralia American Legion Post 608, the Anthracite Fire Company, Lithuanian Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, former president and member of the West End Athletic Club, American Legion Post 901 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2110, all of Mount Carmel. Leonard was an avid fisherman and shuffleboard player. He also enjoyed his many trips to Knoebels Amusement Resort. Leonard is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lacy, of New York, New York; a granddaughter, Alexia; a brother, John Chucoski, of Mount Airy, Maryland; two sisters, Emily Chucoski, of Mount Carmel, and Anna Mae Depin, of Somerset, Massachusetts; and nieces and nephews. CHUCOSKI — Leonard J. "Polish Prince" Chucoski, 85, of 320 S. Grape St., Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Redeemer Church, 438 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Martin O. Moran as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, with transferal prayers held at 9:15 a.m., at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor.
