Mary Theresa Tarlecki, 86, of 50 South Erin Road Aristes, passed away Thursday February 16, 2017 at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born on January 29, 1931, in Byrnesville, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Burke) Reilley.
Mary Theresa was a 1949 Graduate of Con-Cen joint high school in Conyngham Township.
She had been employed as a seamstress until her retirement.
She had worked for the Ashland Knitting Mill and Cardwell industries in Mt. Carmel Township.
Mary Theresa was married on April 7, 1956 in St. Ignatius Church in Centralia to the love of her life Robert Tarlecki who preceded her in death on January 20, 1982.
She was a member of the former St. Ignatius Church in Centralia until its closing. She was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish where she faithfully attended mass until she became ill. She was an active member of the Wilburton Senior Citizens.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Tarlecki and his Carol of Mt. Carmel, Robert Tarlecki and his wife Linda of Elysburg and James Tarlecki and his wife Linda of Aristes; nine grandchildren, Melissa , Michelle, James, Robert A., Kelly, Robert E., Bryan, Stacey and Kristen; three great grandchildren Ethan, Gracyn and Claire; one brother Michael Reilley and his wife Brunina of Elysburg, one sister Elizabeth Birney of Warrington, VA; a cousin Frank Burke; four sisters-in-law, Doris and Rita Reilley both of Aristes, Jane Reilley of Phoenixville and Nancy Beeman and her husband William of Bloomsburg, one brother in law John Tarlecky and his wife of Diane of Mt. Carmel, numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cherished dog Larry.
She was preceded in death by five brothers William, Raymond, James, Patrick and Thomas Reilley and two brothers-in-law, Leonard Birney and Edward Tarlecky.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday February 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery Centralia. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 8:30-9:45 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor.
