Patricia Ann Marie (Bogovich) Wetzel, 87 of 42 South Hickory Street, Mount Carmel passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 with her family by her side in Kulpmont.
Born in Mount Carmel on March 17, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Rawa) Bogovich.
Pat attended Mount Carmel Township schools in Locust Gap and was a 1956 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She also graduated from McCann School of Business in Mahanoy City.
On August 19, 1960, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Mount Carmel, she married Glenn Lee Wetzel who preceded her in death on September 15, 2024. They were married for 64 years, having been together for 69 years until his passing.
Earlier in life, she was employed as a secretary for the State of Pennsylvania at the Capital in Harrisburg. She was also employed in the local garment industry. Pat retired from the UNB Bank in Mount Carmel having worked as a teller and in the loan department.
She was a member of the former Saint Paul’s Church, Atlas and a former member of Our Mother of Consolation Church, Mt. Carmel.
Pat enjoyed flea markets, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, playing solitaire and watching Hallmark movies.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband, Glenn L. Wetzel were twelve siblings, Thomas Bogovich, Edward Bogovich, Jeanette (Bogovich) Bergan, Elizabeth (Bogovich) Muolo, Dorothy (Ostroski) Swatski, Frances (Ostroski) Goodeluinas, John Ostroski, Walter Ostroski, Mildred (Ostroski) Vitacco, Peter Ostroski, Stanley Ostroski, and Sophia (Ostroski) Lindenmuth.
Surviving are her daughter, Dawn Palewicz and her husband Martin of Den-Mar Gardens, Kulpmont; her son, Glenn L. Wetzel of Calabash, NC; her granddaughter, Alyssa Zaitchik and her husband Ben of London, UK; and many nieces and nephews.
Religious services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 11:30 am at Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at the funeral home.
