Robert J. Tehansky

Robert J . Tehansky, 62, of 354 Hickory Run Road, Coal Township, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his home.

Born on December 27, 1961 at the former Shamokin State Hospital, Coal Township, he was the son of Stephen Tehansky who survives and the late Gloria (Kaminski) Apollo.

He was a 1980 graduate of Southern Columbia High School.

Robert had been employed before his illness as a maintenance person at various businesses.

He enjoyed working on cars and racing them at the Numidia Dragway.  He learned his mechanical skills from his grandfather, the late Joseph Kaminiski, Sr.

Surviving in addition to his father are one brother Stephen Tehansky of Paxinos; his significant other, Charlotte Schultz and her children, Brianna Schultz, Jarret Schultz, Nathaniel Schultz and Christopher Schultz; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Religious services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with the Very Rev. Arch Priest Michael Hutsko officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Interment will follow at Assumption B.V.M. cemetery in Centralia.  A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 am at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Cancer Society.  To offer condolences to Robert’s family please sign the guestbook at www.stutzfuneralhome.com.
