Sharon M. Megosh, 80, of Mount Carmel passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Mountain View, A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Shamokin on September 2, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Zimmerman) Diorio.
Earlier in life, Sharon was employed in the local garment industry.
On April 8, 1960, in Coal Township she married Andrew F. "Sam" Megosh who preceded her in death on December 7, 2008, ten years ago to the date of her death.
Sharon was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. Her family was of most importance to her especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for them and treasured the time they spent together as a family.
Surviving are four daughters, Susan Joy of Harrisburg, Lisa Skopatz and her husband Michael of Marion Heights, Donna Bergan and her husband Francis of Mount Carmel, Cindy Pupo and her husband Joseph of Richardson, Texas; three sons, Andrew Megosh Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Silver Spring, Maryland, Louis Megosh and his wife Heather of Malvern and Michael Megosh and his wife Sandra of Mount Carmel; a loving “Nana” to eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Jan Diorio of Coal Township, Lawrence Diorio of Elysburg and Adrian Diorio of Texas; four sisters, Barbara Campbell of Shamokin, Linda Glosek of Coal Township, Cynthia Diorio of Texas and Julie Heim of Coal Township, nieces and nephews and their families.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were her son-in-law, Vincent Joy and her brother, Louis Diorio.
Religious services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:30 am in the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki will officiate. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap, Ralpho Township. A viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until 11:30 am at the funeral home.
