SHAMOKIN — Stanley "Stosh" V. Pultynovich, 67, of 407 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, passed away May 30, 2016, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Jan. 11, 1949, in Shamokin State Hospital, Stanley was the son of the late Joseph and Estelle (Viesnefski) Pultynovich. He graduated from Shamokin High School. Stanley served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He attained the grade of Sergeant E-5. He served with Company A, Second Battalion, 1st Armored Division. He received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Bronze Star Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge and a Purple Heart. He was married to Christine (Venna) Pultynovich who preceded him in death on November 5, 1979 He was a member of the Holy Angels Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8354, both in Kulpmont. Stanley was a loving father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his two grandchildren. He was survived by a son, Stanley "Stosh" Pultynovich and his wife, Stephanie, of Mount Carmel; two grandchildren, Preston and Tatum; three brothers, Vincent Pultynovich, of Shamokin, Anthony Pultynovich, of Delaware, and Thomas Pultynovich, of New York; a sister, Agnes Robel, of Shamokin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Joseph, David and Bernard Pultynovich, and a sister, Estelle Bahner. PULTYNOVICH — Stanley "Stosh" V. Pultynovich, 67, of 407 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. The Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S.
