Susan F. "Sue" Probition

July 18, 1956 — September 7, 2024

Shenandoah Heights

Susan F. (Wyluda) Probition, 68, of Shenandoah Heights passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in her home.

Born on July 18, 1956 at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, Shenandoah Heights, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna A. “Annie” (Concatella) Wyluda.

Sue was a 1974 graduate of the former Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs. She also graduated from Penn State University, Schuylkill Campus.

Early in life, she was employed at the Schuylkill County Court House. She was currently employed as a front desk agent at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Frackville. Sue was known to many as the “Avon Lady”.

On July 29, 1978 in the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah, she married Joseph M. Probition Jr. who preceded her in death on April 30, 2023.

Suzie was a talented musician, having been the organist in many local churches. For many years, she played for her lifelong home parish, the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah. Currently, she was an organist for her current parish, Divine Mercy Parish and also played for Trinity United Church of Christ (UCC) both in Shenandoah.

She was well known for cooking and preparing Italian dishes, not only for family and friends but also as a volunteer for numerous church festivals, dinners, block parties and food sales. Sue actively volunteered and cooked for the annual Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was instrumental in the success of the 100th anniversary celebration held in 2014. She continuously supported her parish by “cooking all hours of the night” with her cousin, Ann Lehman.

Sue never met a stranger and could talk for hours on end with anyone. She was loud, honest, opinionated, and always had a great time. She never missed a birthday, holiday, or celebration, and always made sure to bring dessert. There truly will never be another Sue.

Surviving are her son, Joseph M. Probition, III and his wife Geneva of Catasauqua; her beloved dog Freya, one niece, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor and Christopher L. Kowalski, Funeral Director, are in care of the arrangements. To offer condolences to Sue’s family, please sign the guestbook below.
