Thomas E. Grinaway

Thomas E. Grinaway, 83, of 114 Thrush Lane, Elysburg passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on July 4, 1940 in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Elmer and Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Grinaway.

He was a graduate of the former Coal Township High School.

Thomas was married to Pauline (Tomcavage) Grinaway who survives.

Thomas was previously employed by Delco Battery in New Brunswick, N.J.  He then went on to own and operate Wagner’s Service Center with his two sons in Milltown, N.J. until his retirement.

Thomas was a member of St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Church in Mt. Carmel.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and die-hard Green Bay Packer’s fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years, Pauline Grinaway are his sons, Tommy Grinaway and his wife Sherry of South Brunswick, N.J. and Bryan Grinaway and his wife Susan of South Brunswick, N.J.; a daughter, Sharon Chase and her husband David of Macomb, Michigan; two grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew; a sister, Carol Way and her husband John of Rocky Mountain, N.C.; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 12:00 noon with Priest Aleksey Paranyuk officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor.  A viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Church, 131 North Willow Street Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.  To offer condolences to Thomas’s family, please sign the guestbook below.
