Vincent Jerome Guzevich

Vincent Jerome Guzevich, 90 of Mount Carmel passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.

Born in Mount Carmel on November 2, 1932, he was a son of the late Adolph and Eleanor (Kornaski) Guzevich.

He attended the former Holy Cross grade school and was a 1950 graduate Mount Carmel High School.

Prior to his retirement, Vince was employed in refrigeration and air conditioning for the State of Pennsylvania.

On April 19, 1996, in Shamokin, he married the former Janet Alice Reichwein who survives.

Vince was a social member of the Lithuanian Social Club, the Mount Carmel VFW Post 2110, the American Legion Post and the Sons of Poland all of Mount Carmel.

Surviving in addition to his wife of twenty-six years, Janet A. Guzevich are step-children, Theresa McCarthy of Locust Gap, Gina Lauer of Elysburg, Kevin McCarthy and his wife Linda of Coal Township, William McCarthy and his companion Jon Ann Cromyak of Pottsville and Michelle Kerner and her companion George Arnold of Shamokin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Hartman and her husband Bob of Coal Township and Eleanor Mann and her husband Charles of Mount Carmel; nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his brother, Francis Guzevich and his step-son, Daniel McCarthy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Very Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J.
