Virginia B. Ruhl, 91, formerly of Atlas passed away on Friday night, September 11, 2026 at Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont.

Born in Danville on July 17, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Ferdinand Diminick Sr. and the late Lena (Girardi) Diminick.

She was a 1953 graduate of Danville Senior High. After completing beauty school, Virginia earned her cosmetology license and began her career as a licensed cosmetologist and hairdresser.

On June 27, 1953 in Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, she married Valente E. Scicchitano who preceded her in death on May 17, 1980. On October 12, 1985 in Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, she married Donald B. Ruhl who preceded her in death on November 11, 1997.

She was a member of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg.

Virginia loved her family, her friends, and life itself. She embodied the values of a strong, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. These values were deeply rooted in her heart and were lovingly instilled in and passed on to her children and grandchildren, creating a lasting legacy of love and family. A generous and compassionate person, Virginia was always willing to give of herself and lend a helping hand to those in need.

Before returning permanently to Pennsylvania, Virginia spent thirty-six years at Highland Fairways in Lakeland, Florida, where she was an active and valued member of the community. She participated in numerous activities and organizations, including the Angels Community Service Group. She enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle, and pepper, and took great pleasure in helping plan community activities and volunteering her time. Virginia especially enjoyed the many resident gatherings, including lunches, dinners, dances, water aerobics, exercise classes and line dancing. Her warm spirit, generosity, and genuine love of people touched the lives of many and made her an important part of the community she called home in Florida.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her significant other, Robert Meyers in January 2024 and her sister, Joan Siana.

Surviving are her three cherished daughters, Barbara Decker and her husband Jason D. of Royersford, Debra Lyden and her husband Kevin L. of York, and Concetta Leffler and her significant other Robert Leffler of Elysburg; eight grandchildren, Michael Lyden and his wife Sarah, Jaisen Leffler and his wife Dana, Nathan Lyden and his wife Therese, Nicole Thompson and her husband Adam, Justin Leffler and his wife Jennifer, Brittany Deller and her husband Dan, Dustin Good and his wife Kim, and Jena Harriot and her husband Holden; seventeen great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Shea, Camren, Daly, Olivia, Bode, Preston, Emery, Tenley, Chloe, Elijah, Ryker, Landon, Hazel, Hadley, Henry, and Haven; one brother, Ferdinand Diminick Jr. and his wife Bonnie; one sister, Katherine Bantel and her husband Greg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Religious services celebrating Virginia’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Stefan Dinu officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, Supervisor. Interment with her late husband, Valente, will be private in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning, November 7, 2026 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
