William “Bill” “Nudge” Nagy, 81 of 315 Melrose St., Marion Heights passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Born in Kulpmont on July 25, 1937 he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Steyrl) Nagy.
He was a graduate of the former Kulpmont High School.
Nudge was a United States Air Force Veteran having served from 1957 to 1961.
On November 3, 1962 in Patronage of Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church in Marion Heights he married the former Roseann (Labowski) Nagy who preceded him in death on January 4, 2014.
Nudge was a long standing member of Laborer's Local 158 in Harrisburg, Pa. He was employed for many years as a construction laborer for numerous drilling, environmental and pipeline companies.
Nudge was a member of Holy Angels Church, Kulpmont, the Marion Heights Fire Company, the Kulpmont American Legion Post #231, the West Fire Company, Kulpmont and the Kulpmont Sportsmen’s Club.
He loved gardening, picking mushrooms, hot air balloon rides, white water rafting, travelling, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon; two grandchildren, Karissa and Tommy; one sister, Rose; one sister-in-law, Darlene; his niece, Diane Bressi who was like a daughter to him; Theresa Nagy and Thomas Cichon; additional nieces and nephews, close family friend Debbie.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son Joseph William Nagy on January 12, 2018, five brothers, Joe, Steve, John, Ernest and Charlie and four sisters, Irene, Ann, Emma and Maggie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 am in Holy Angels Church, Kulpmont. Rev. Andrew J. Stahmer will be the celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Marion Heights. A viewing will be held at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.
